The Estevan and District Music Festival Association has shortened its 2026 event by one day, moving the final date to Thursday, March 26, 2026. The festival in Estevan, Saskatchewan, was originally slated to run through March 27, but organizers adjusted the timeline after registrations were finalized; registration for the festival closed on January 30, 2026. This change means the entire event will now take place over 12 days, beginning Sunday, March 15, 2026 and concluding on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Performers, teachers, and parents are being asked to check their updated schedules through the MusicFestivalSuite online portal (emfd.musicfestivalsuite.com). Because the schedule is now more compact, some performance times or venue assignments may have changed. Organizers urge families to verify these details so they do not miss sessions for piano, voice (singing), or band performances.
The festival uses several local buildings for its competitions, including St. Paul’s United Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Estevan Comprehensive School. Alisha Mann, president of the Estevan and District Music Festival Association, said the festival is a long-standing community tradition and a pathway for local students to qualify for the Saskatchewan Music Festival Association provincial competitions. The event has served the community for more than 60 years.
Those with questions about the new end date or specific class times can contact the festival organizers directly or log into the official scheduling website. Organizers say the adjustment was made so all classes and adjudications could be accommodated efficiently within the revised 12-day window.
