The Fort Saskatchewan Community Band is hosting a combined spring concert and local art show on March 13, 2026, in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hall and offers residents a low-cost evening of live music and visual art. This event provides a central gathering place for families and seniors to enjoy local culture.
The performance will take place in the Normandy Room, which typically holds between 250 and 300 guests. Conductor Dr. Guy Palmer, a former music teacher, will lead the wind ensemble as they play alongside a gallery of local artwork. Dr. Palmer is a longtime clarinetist who previously taught with Elk Island Catholic Schools.
The band has been a fixture in the local arts scene since 1984. In 2004, the group was officially named as city ambassadors for their frequent performances at community events and seniors’ residences. According to the Fort Saskatchewan Community Band, the group is currently led by President Gage Marr and Vice President Jane Driedger.
By pairing music with a local art show, the band aims to create a platform for visual artists while sharing their own musical repertoire. This event is part of the band’s ongoing efforts to foster community connections through the arts.
