Residents in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, have until the end of the day on February 27, 2026, to share their thoughts on local safety through a community policing survey. The City of Fort Saskatchewan is using the feedback to help local police decide where to focus their time and resources over the coming year.

The anonymous survey takes about two minutes to complete and is open to anyone who lives in, works in, or visits the city. The results will help the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Detachment and the Municipal Policing Committee create a yearly plan for local law enforcement.

This plan acts as a guide for officers, ensuring they address the specific concerns of the community alongside regular crime data. In previous years, the city used this feedback to focus on reducing property and rural crime, while also working to make officers more visible in neighborhoods.

The Municipal Policing Committee is a citizen-led group that acts as a link between the public and the police to ensure law enforcement matches local values. They hold regular public meetings to discuss crime trends and enforcement, with a key meeting having taken place on January 15, 2026.
