A massive industrial rinsing station weighing more than 600,000 kilograms is moving through Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, this week. This heavy load is being delivered to the Dow Chemical site for a new net-zero expansion project and is expected to cause significant traffic delays for local residents.
The transport is being completed in two parts to manage the impact on the community. The first leg of the trip was finished overnight on February 24, 2026, while the final leg begins at 8:30 AM on February 26, 2026.
The equipment was built at Dacro Industries in Edmonton and measures 96 metres long and more than 9 metres wide. According to Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, the size of the load requires it to travel against the normal flow of traffic on major roads, including segments of Whitemud Drive and the Anthony Henday.
Drivers should prepare for total road closures and delays on Highway 14, Highway 834, and Highway 15 while the move is in progress. This transport follows a similar large-scale industrial delivery that took place on February 17, 2026.
