Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Strong northwest winds with gusts between 90 and 110 kilometres per hour are expected to impact the area throughout the day before dying down in the evening.
According to Environment Canada, these powerful gusts are also expected in Northern Strathcona County. The high winds may lead to local power outages and could damage property such as fences, roofs, and soft shelters like gazebos or temporary tents.
Drivers of large vehicles like semi-trucks or campers are advised to be cautious, as the wind can make it difficult to stay in a single lane. Residents should also make sure any loose items outside are tied down or moved indoors to prevent them from blowing away during the day.
