Residents in Gananoque, Ontario, can help decide where the town allocates tax dollars during a public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, to discuss the successor 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. The session will gather resident feedback to help officials set priorities for services and community projects through 2030.

The meeting runs 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Upstairs Hall of the Lou Jeffries, Gananoque & T.L.T.I. Recreation Centre, 600 King St. E. According to the Town of Gananoque, the goal is to hear directly from neighbours about priorities for essential services and community assets — including water and wastewater systems, emergency services, waterfront development and the maintenance of town infrastructure such as roads and parks.

Mayor John Beddows told the Pembroke Observer the town faces “tough choices” in upcoming budget years as it confronts significant planned spending on infrastructure. Officials and council documents identify roughly $10 million in planned spending on the town’s water and wastewater systems in the coming years, a pressure the new strategic plan must address.

Residents who cannot attend in person can share their priorities through an online survey open until Friday, Feb. 13, 2026. Chief Administrative Officer Melanie Kirkby is leading the town staff work on the strategic plan. Separately, the Gananoque Police Service is developing its own 2026–2029 strategic plan; the two processes include overlapping priorities such as community safety and service planning.
