The Town of Gananoque, Ontario, has opened applications for Intake #1 of the 2026 Tourism Advisory Panel (TAP) funding program. Intake #1 has a deadline of February 23, 2026. The program, administered through the Tourism Advisory Panel and the Town’s Economic Development office, offers cost‑sharing grants to non‑profit organizations, businesses and community groups that want to attract more visitors to the area.

The town will fund up to 50% of eligible project costs for projects that demonstrate they can bring visitors into the community, with priority for projects that show potential to convert day‑trippers into overnight stays. Groups can apply using the Town’s TAP Funding Application (listed on the Tourism Advisory Panel page) — applicants should consult the TAP page and the Town’s Community Grants information for related guidance and eligibility.

In the past, TAP grants have supported local events such as the 1000 Islands Family Ribfest and programs run by local museums and heritage organizations. Organizers are advised to submit applications well in advance of their event dates; historically the Town has recommended applications be submitted at least four to six weeks before an event to allow time for panel review and Town Council approval.

Members of the Tourism Advisory Panel review each application using an Assessment Matrix that scores projects on criteria including economic impact, marketing reach and expected visitor draw. After the panel scores and ranks applications, recommendations are forwarded to Town Council, which makes the final decision on grant approvals.
