The Gander detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed that Natasha Broderick was taken into custody over the weekend of Feb. 8–9, 2026, following a targeted local investigation. Gander RCMP said the arrest is part of efforts to address community safety concerns in Gander and nearby Appleton.

According to police, the arrest is linked to a pattern of property-related allegations and repeated breaches of court-ordered conditions. Broderick, who has been known to local law enforcement for several years, is expected to appear in Gander Provincial Court this week to face charges arising from the ongoing investigation; officials say specific charges are being finalized.

This development follows earlier periods when police asked the public for assistance locating Broderick. In November 2023 the Gander RCMP sought help in relation to a reported break-and-enter and alleged theft under $5,000, and in February 2024 a Canada-wide warrant was issued after an alleged breach of recognizance. At that time, investigators believed she may have been travelling between the Gander and Corner Brook areas.

Gander RCMP said the arrest resulted from an ongoing investigation and that officers remain committed to responding to community concerns and holding those who breach court-ordered conditions accountable. The detachment will continue to patrol the area and respond to reports of illegal activity to help ensure neighbourhood safety.
