Residents in Gimli, Manitoba, are seeing cleaner streets and better driving conditions after municipal crews improved snow clearing on February 25 and February 26, 2026. This change happened after a community member contacted the local government to share concerns about the state of the roads.

A resident shared in a local community group that the roads were noticeably better and had less gravel on them than in previous weeks. The RM of Gimli Public Works department is responsible for plowing and sanding the streets to keep them safe for drivers.

These service improvements come during a time of change as the municipality starts a large review of how it is run. This follows a seven-day suspension of Mayor Kevin Chudd in January 2026.

As the community celebrates its 150th anniversary of settlement in 2026, the Rural Municipality of Gimli is aiming to offer better services to everyone who lives there. Residents are being asked to continue reporting any road problems they find to ensure the town stays easy to get around.
