A ParaTough Cup stop hosted by the Paralympic Foundation of Canada in Grand Falls‑Windsor, Newfoundland and Labrador, raised more than $114,000 to support athletes with disabilities, organizers said. The Paralympic Foundation brought its ParaTough Cup tour to the community on February 4, 2026 to support Para sport programs across the country.

During the half‑day competition, teams of six to eight people from local businesses competed in three Para sports. According to the Paralympic Foundation of Canada, participants rotated through wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and para ice hockey while working toward their fundraising goals. The funds raised will go to the Foundation’s IGNITE campaign, which provides equipment, coaching and travel grants for athletes from grassroots programs through to national teams.

The local total contributed to the ParaTough Cup’s national fundraising effort, which the Foundation says has now surpassed the $3 million milestone since the program began in 2017. Organizers noted the Grand Falls‑Windsor result is unusually high for a community of this size and approaches amounts recorded at stops in much larger cities such as Vancouver.

Organizers and local volunteers say the event can serve as a blueprint for community groups and sport associations looking to run peer‑to‑peer corporate fundraisers that increase awareness of Para sport. Working with local partners, the Foundation demonstrated how corporate teams, volunteers and municipal support can combine to expand inclusion in sport.
