Crews in Dundalk, Ontario, finished fixing a broken water pipe on February 2, 2026, after the leak caused a local road to close for most of the day. The Township of Southgate closed Grey Street between Dundalk Street and Doyle Street to make the emergency repairs.

The closure affected people living in the area and drivers from nearby communities like Grand Valley who often travel through the center of Dundalk. Local traffic was sent to different side streets for about eight to ten hours while workers dug up the pipe and patched the break.

Town officials confirmed that the water quality remained safe throughout the repair, so families in the neighborhood did not need to boil their water. This part of the town has seen more traffic lately as new housing projects move forward, as noted in recent Township of Southgate Planning Notices.

Repair crews stayed on the street into the evening to monitor the area and make sure the road was safe for vehicles. The street is now fully open to traffic and water service has returned to normal for all residents.
