Most municipal facilities in Grande Prairie, Alberta, will see closures or adjusted hours on Friday, April 3, 2026, in observation of the Good Friday statutory holiday.
According to the City of Grande Prairie, many public buildings will remain closed for the day. These include City Hall, the City Service Centre, the Bonnetts Energy Centre, the Montrose Cultural Centre, the Grande Prairie Museum, the Dave Barr Community Centre, Keyera Place Grande Prairie (formerly the Activity and Reception Centre), and Cedar Point.
Some recreational facilities will remain open with limited availability. The Eastlink Centre, the Design Works Centre, and the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion at Muskoseepi Park are set to operate on holiday hours from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Public transit will also follow a holiday schedule. Regular bus service will run from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by late night on-demand service from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Residents should note that the County of Grande Prairie offices will be closed as well.
All municipal facilities and transit services are expected to return to their regular business hours on Sunday, April 5, 2026, and Monday, April 6, 2026. As Good Friday is a recognized statutory holiday in Alberta, residents are encouraged to check the official City website for any additional updates regarding specific location services.
