The Edmonton Elks are bringing their professional football camp to Grande Prairie, Alberta, on April 25-26, 2026. The two-day event, held at the JDA County Sportsplex, offers local youth athletes the chance to train directly with professional players and university-level talent.
Registration for the camp is now open at a cost of $140 per person. Training sessions are split for younger children in minor football and older students in high school. Participants will receive coaching from current members of the professional team along with University of Alberta players who originally grew up in the Grande Prairie area.
On April 25, 2026, the minor camp runs from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, followed by the high school session from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The following morning on April 26, 2026, the younger players will practice from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, while the high school players will finish the camp from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
The visit is part of the team’s effort to connect with northern communities before their new season begins on June 6, 2026. The professional club, which took on the name Elks in 2021, is looking to build on last year’s performance after finishing the 2025 season with seven wins and 11 losses.
Grande Prairie has a strong local tradition of the sport, supported by groups like the Grande Prairie Broncos and the Mighty Peace Bantam Football League. The regional facility hosting the camp is located in Clairmont, approximately five minutes north of the city.
