The City of Grande Prairie, Alberta, finished residential snow clearing in Week B neighbourhoods between March 9 and March 13, 2026. This work is part of a regular maintenance rotation to keep local roads safe and prepare the community for the upcoming spring thaw.
During the clearing, the city required residents to move their vehicles off the street between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. These temporary parking rules helped hired crews clear the roads completely and safely.
Along with plowing snow, the Public Works department started preparing for warmer weather by clearing ice and snow from storm drains and catch basins. These efforts help manage the melting snow and prevent local flooding in different parts of the city.
Workers also used a cold-mix material to fix potholes that have formed on city streets. Residents who see major drainage problems or large potholes can report them directly to the city through its customer service line, AccessGP.
