The Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta (ECAA) North West Chapter is hosting a networking and training event for local industry professionals in Grande Prairie, Alberta, on February 5, 2026. The meeting provides a space for electricians, suppliers, and apprentices to discuss new technology and business management within the trade.

Leading up to the evening social, the association is offering a two‑day PEC Business Development Core Course on February 4 and 5, 2026. The course covers how to run an electrical contracting business, including planning and operations, human resources, marketing, and customer relations.

The main social event on February 5, 2026, will feature table‑top displays from associate members, including Wesco Distribution (locally represented by Eddy Brasseur). These displays typically include equipment demonstrations that let tradespeople see new tools and technologies in areas such as electric‑vehicle charging and renewable‑energy integration.

Local chapter leaders — including Eddy Brasseur (Wesco Distribution Canada, Associate Liaison), Tim Tarita (Magnum Electric, Apprenticeship & Nominations) and North West Chapter executive Christian Schroeder (Great North Electric) — are among the organizers. The ECAA frames these chapter events as a way to support member engagement as the industry in Northern Alberta continues to grow. The events also help contractors stay current with the 2024 Canadian Electrical Code (26th Edition), which is the regulatory focus through 2026.

Contractors and journeypersons interested in participating can find registration details through the ECAA Events Calendar: https://members.ecaa.ab.ca/events. Confirm the exact venue (chapter events in Grande Prairie are sometimes held at supplier warehouses or local hotels) by checking the event listing or contacting the ECAA office at 780‑451‑2412.
