Students and staff across the Peace Wapiti Public School Division in Alberta have raised a total of $58,666.80 for the Terry Fox Foundation through their 2025 fundraising efforts. This achievement, which was announced by the school division on May 14, 2026, marks another milestone in a long-standing commitment to cancer research.
A total of 20 schools participated in the campaign. Among the participants, two schools earned spots in the foundation’s Top 25 regional rankings for Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Whispering Ridge Community School raised $11,480.40, placing it 10th in the elementary division, while Spirit River Regional Academy finished 13th in the secondary division after raising $7,962.
The recent donations bring the school division’s cumulative total to $1,096,888.51 since they began supporting the cause. Superintendent Shawn O’Shea noted that the ongoing dedication shown by students, staff, and local communities remains an inspiring tribute to the legacy and vision of Terry Fox.
