The Zulu Challenge is returning to Grande Prairie, Alberta, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, to provide residents with an outdoor fitness event focused on teamwork. This obstacle race series is known for its unique format where adult participants must stay connected to their teammates using harnesses throughout the entire course.

The event features a five-kilometre route with 24 different obstacles designed to test physical coordination and cooperation. While adults compete in tethered teams, there are also specific categories available for children between the ages of four and 13. Dog owners can also participate in the race alongside their pets in a dedicated category for canine companions.

According to the race organizers, the series was founded by Tosh Mugambi to encourage people to work together rather than focusing only on individual speed. The race has become a regular activity for the community, offering a family-friendly way to stay active outdoors.

Residents interested in participating can find registration details and tickets through Eventbrite. The organizers recommend that participants verify the specific starting location in the city when they sign up for the event.
