The District of Muskoka began taking applications for the 2026 Muskoka Community Grant Program on February 9, 2026, to help local groups in Gravenhurst, Ontario, fund projects that support the community. These grants are designed to help grassroots groups, charities, and non-profit organizations address local needs such as food security, housing stability, and social connection.

There are two funding streams available. Pay It Forward (PIF) grants provide up to $2,500 for small, community-led projects, while the Community Enhancement Fund (CE) offers grants up to $10,000 for larger-scale projects and programs, including capital costs, equipment, or events.

The funding helps projects that serve Gravenhurst residents get started or reach more people. Past recipients such as Gravenhurst Against Poverty have used Muskoka Community Grant funding to provide grocery gift cards and transportation assistance.

Residents and organizations can submit their ideas through the Engage Muskoka digital platform. Applications are evaluated against the District’s strategic priorities — including poverty reduction, food security, housing and inclusion — and the program sits alongside the District’s multi-year budgeting and planning aimed at providing financial stability for community priorities.
