The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) confirmed on January 15, 2026, that 38-year-old Michael Lewis has been located in the Grimsby area of Ontario. Lewis had been last seen on October 17, 2025, in the Victoria Avenue and Jepson Street area of Niagara Falls and was reported missing to the Ontario Provincial Police (Orillia Detachment) in December 2025.

Lewis, 38, lived a transient lifestyle and detectives were concerned for his wellbeing as winter weather set in. The investigation was transferred to NRPS after the OPP located evidence the man had been in the Niagara area; detectives from NRPS’s 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) and 8 District (Grimsby/Lincoln) collaborated on the file.

Police say tips from local residents and anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers of Niagara helped officers follow up on leads and sightings that led to locating Lewis. In keeping with privacy protocols, NRPS has removed identifying photos and personal details from its original media release and social channels. As the NRPS media release stated: ‘Michael has been located, thank you for your assistance. We have removed Michael’s photo from the original media release and our social media for his privacy.’

Anyone with additional information about the case is asked to contact NRPS at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009524.
