On the morning of Monday, February 16, 2026, Environment Canada officially ended a fog advisory for Guelph, Ontario. The weather agency updated its records at 10:22 AM to confirm that the thick mist, which had caused near-zero visibility for drivers, was no longer a threat.

Earlier in the day, the Guelph Turfgrass Institute recorded a temperature of -1.9°C. Humidity levels reached 98 per cent during the peak of the fog, making it difficult for residents to see while traveling through the city and southern Wellington County.

While the sun may break through, the forecast shows a 60 per cent chance of rain or flurries arriving late this afternoon. Drivers should remain alert as these conditions follow the clearing of the morning fog patches.

Looking further ahead, there is a strong risk of freezing rain predicted for Wednesday, February 18, 2026. This type of weather can lead to icy surfaces on sidewalks and streets throughout the community.

To help stay safe, the City of Guelph provides updates through its emergency notification system. Residents can use this service to monitor local road conditions and potential winter weather hazards.
