The Kluane Mountain Bluegrass Festival will return to Haines Junction, Yukon, from June 12 to 14, 2026, featuring a new theme titled Bluegrass and Beyond. This year’s event marks the 22nd edition of the festival, which is the only bluegrass celebration held north of 60 degrees latitude.
Organized by the Yukon Bluegrass Music Society, the festival aims to highlight the roots of traditional bluegrass while incorporating related musical styles such as folk, classic country, and old-time music. The 2026 lineup includes performances by Cassie and Maggie, The Burnett Sisters Band, The Barrel Boys, High Fidelity, Remedy Tree, Shari Ulrich and The Unfaithful Servants, and The Fugitives.
The festival takes place on the traditional territories of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations. It was originally founded in 2003 by the late Peter Milner and Bob Hayes, both of whom were posthumously inducted into the Canadian Bluegrass Hall of Fame in 2024 for their contributions to the music community.
Tickets and volunteer opportunities are now available for the public. As a volunteer-run event, the society relies on support from the community to help manage the three-day festival. The event is supported by funding from the Government of Yukon Department of Tourism and Culture and Lotteries Yukon.
