The 5th annual Yukon Hardwater Racing event returns to Haines Junction, Yukon, on March 21, 2026, bringing snowmobile enthusiasts together at the Pine Lake Campground. This community sporting event offers various races for all skill levels and features a new exhibition to test interest in permanent ice racing.
Participants can enter several different categories, including kids’ classes and a cross-country lake race. Drag racing classes are also available for engines ranging from 120cc up to 900cc, with entry fees ranging from free for children to $150 for more advanced levels.
A new addition for this year is an ice racing exhibition where drivers can use modified sleds equipped with traction products. Organizers plan to use this exhibition to see if there is enough interest to make ice racing a regular part of the event in the future.
The races at the Pine Lake Campground provide a chance for local racing enthusiasts to compete while residents watch from the sidelines. The day focuses on snowmobile-based competitions that bring the community together for outdoor winter sports.
