Students and staff in Iglulik, Nunavut, wore pink on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, to take part in Pink Shirt Day. This territory-wide event encourages everyone to be kind to one another and work together to stop bullying in schools.

The Nunavut Department of Education promoted the day using the theme Sprinkle Kindness. According to Minister of Education David Akeeagok, the goal is to follow the Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit principle of Inuuqatigiitsiarniq, which means respecting and caring for others.

At Ataguttaaluk Elementary School and Iglulik High School, students participated in classroom programs and discussions. These activities helped children and teachers find ways to support each other and improve well-being in the classroom.

The initiative also provides resources for parents to help them talk about bullying with their children at home. By joining the event, community members in Iglulik hope to create a safer and more supportive environment for all young people.
