Families in Innisfail will have more free and low-cost ways to keep kids busy this July as the town adds new outdoor programs at the library and spray park. The Innisfail Public Library is launching “Whatever Wednesday” on July 15, and the Innisfail Spray Park will host “Suds in the Park” on July 8. These programs join a slate of summer youth activities that includes an arts and crafts afternoon at Centennial Park on July 7.
“Whatever Wednesday” runs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Innisfail Public Library and features outdoor games, activities, and crafts set up in stations. The event is weather-dependent and requires pre-registration through the library. “Suds in the Park” is a foam play session at the Innisfail Spray Park, located behind the Innisfail Aquatic Centre. It runs from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and uses non-toxic, environmentally friendly foam for a safe way to cool off.
The spray park is open free of charge from the May long weekend through September, weather permitting, making it a popular spot for local families. The adjoining Aquatic Centre reopened in April 2026 after a $14.9-million modernization, and the spray park remained open throughout the construction. The town has focused on maintaining services without raising taxes, approving a 2026 operating budget of $31.9 million and a capital budget of $6.5 million with no mill rate increase.
On July 7, youth of all skill levels are invited to Centennial Park for an afternoon of arts and crafts from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Registration is required, and participants are encouraged to bring their creativity. The program is part of the town’s ongoing effort to provide accessible recreation during the summer months.
