The Town of Kearney in Ontario has completed the exterior painting of its new elevated water tower, marking a major step in the town’s infrastructure project. As of February 7, 2026, the construction has moved into the final stages of connecting the tower to the municipal water system.
Crews are now installing the water line between the treatment building and the tower and finishing electrical work for the control systems. This stage of the project is essential for linking the storage tank to the local pipes that serve households and businesses.
The new tower is funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) to modernize a system that previously struggled with low water pressure. This upgrade will use gravity to ensure a steady supply of water and improve fire safety for the entire community.
Town officials expect the tower to be commissioned and fully operational by late spring/early summer 2026. While construction continues on the final connections, residents can look forward to more reliable service and better emergency water reserves once the work is complete.
