Residents in Kensington, Prince Edward Island, will see a change in their waste pickup schedule this week as there will be no curbside collection on Monday, February 16, 2026. The Island Waste Management Corporation announced that all garbage, recycling, and compost services are paused for the Islander Day holiday.

Pickup for households and businesses that usually happens on Monday has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 21, 2026. Residents should secure their waste carts and blue bags until the new collection date to avoid missed pickups or overflowing bins.

According to the IWMC, all administrative offices and Waste Watch Drop-Off Centers will also be closed on the holiday. Services in Kensington are currently managed by Label Construction and Sanitation, which handles the collection for the East Prince region.

For real-time updates and sorting help, officials recommend using the Recycle Coach app or the Nuwelcom app. These tools provide residents with personalized notifications and schedules based on their specific street address.
