Kingston, Ontario will host the Best Buddies Canada Friendship Walk on October 3, 2026, at Lake Ontario Park (920 King West), with Volunteer Kingston actively recruiting volunteers for the annual event. The walk is the organization’s largest fundraiser and celebrates the friendships and community that Best Buddies helps create for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Best Buddies Canada is a national registered charity that promotes inclusion by creating lasting one-to-one friendships between individuals living with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. The organization does not receive direct government funding and relies on events like the Friendship Walk to support its programs.
This year’s Kingston walk, the third edition following the inaugural event on September 29, 2024, which brought together over 150 walkers, sponsors, and donors and raised more than $11,800, is suitable for families, groups, students, and seniors, and is accessible for people with disabilities.
