The Give 30 campaign has returned to Kingston, Ontario, for its 13th year to raise money for local food security programs by asking residents to donate 30 dollars or more between February 11 and April 30, 2026.
All money raised during the drive goes to the Partners in Mission Food Bank to help people who cannot afford enough to eat. This support is needed after local records showed that one in 17 Kingston residents required a food hamper in 2025.
Local schools and businesses are encouraged to participate by hosting events or offering matching donations to help the campaign grow. Last year, the community raised a record 37,000 dollars through these types of grassroots efforts.
While the campaign runs alongside the month of Ramadan to reflect values of empathy and fasting, organizers say it is open to everyone in the community. Residents often participate by donating the money they would have spent on small daily costs, such as coffee or eating out.
Founded by Ziyaad Mia, the program is led locally by co-chair Mona Rahman and team member Imam Michael Taylor. Executive director of the food bank Dan Irwin says these donations provide essential support for frontline services that help neighbors in need.
