Kingston, Ontario is heading into a packed summer of community events, with the City of Kingston posting a 2026 calendar that includes the Kingston Climate Summit, National Indigenous Peoples Day, Canada Day celebrations and several major festivals.
The Kingston Climate Summit will run June 3 and 4 at St. Lawrence College, 100 Portsmouth Ave., after growing into a two-day event focused on local climate solutions. The summit is being presented by ICLEI Canada, the City of Kingston and Sustainable Kingston, with Utilities Kingston as platinum sponsor and Queen’s University as silver sponsor.
Dr. Dave Williams will deliver the keynote address, titled “Space on Earth – A Sustainable Future,” on June 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Registration is set at $50 plus HST for corporate attendees and $35 plus HST for students and community members, with a limited number of free tickets available for people facing financial barriers.
National Indigenous Peoples Day will be marked June 21 at Confederation Park from 1 to 6 p.m., presented by the Kingston Native Centre and Language Nest with support from the city. The event comes during the 30th anniversary of the nationally recognized day and will include ceremony, performances, workshops and storytelling.
The city’s summer lineup also includes Canada Day celebrations on July 1 at Confederation Park and Springer Market Square, with live music, arts and cultural programming, food trucks, a licensed area, a kids’ zone and fireworks. Other events on the calendar include YGK Craft Beer Fest at Fort Henry on June 13 and ArtFest Kingston at City Park from June 26 to 28, both organized by local event groups.
