Residents and businesses in the Inner Harbour and Barriefield areas of Kingston, Ontario, will experience a planned power outage on February 19, 2026, as crews perform maintenance on local electrical equipment. The work is scheduled to take place between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and will affect those living and working on Raglan Road, Main Street, and York Street.

According to Utilities Kingston, the outage is necessary so workers can safely manage overhead electric wires. This work includes moving power lines to new utility poles as part of regular improvements to the local electrical system.

The Kingston Hydro Corporation, which owns the local power equipment, first shared the notice about the work on February 13, 2026. The impacted streets are located in the historic Inner Harbour and Barriefield Village neighborhoods.

To prepare for the six-hour service gap, the utility suggests that people turn off sensitive electronic devices and avoid opening refrigerators or freezers. Keeping these doors closed helps maintain the cold temperature inside and prevents food from spoiling while the power is out.
