The Easter Zoe’s Animal Rescue Society fundraiser was held at the Leduc Brewing Company in Leduc, Alberta, on March 15, 2026, to support local animal welfare efforts during the busy spring season. The event helped the volunteer-run group raise money for pet care as warmer weather leads to a surge in abandoned animals needing homes.
Taking place at 4901 50 Avenue, the afternoon featured adoptable dogs, a silent auction, and a 50-50 raffle. Visitors also checked out local vendors and participated in by-donation pet photos, with proceeds going directly toward medical care and supplies for the animals.
This fundraiser was part of a series of events hosted by the brewery to help local shelters during “kitten season,” a time from March to June when animal intakes often surge. Because Zoe’s Animal Rescue is a shelterless organization, it depends on a network of foster homes and community donations rather than a central building to house and care for pets.
Co-founders Kath Oltsher and Sasha Campbell run the non-profit as members of the Alberta Force Free Alliance, which ensures all animals are handled in a gentle and force-free manner during training, vet services, and grooming. Oltsher has stated that her ultimate goal is for the community to prioritize spaying and neutering pets so that rescue organizations eventually become unnecessary.
Leduc Brewing Company features a year-round pet-friendly patio where leashed dogs are always welcome. While the fundraiser was free for the public to attend, community support remains vital for the organization to continue its work across the Edmonton Zone and surrounding areas.
