Leduc City Council will hold a public hearing on March 9, 2026, to discuss a proposal for new housing and a park in the Black Stone neighbourhood in Leduc, Alberta. The hearing is a formal opportunity for residents to give feedback on Bylaw 1245-2026 before council makes a final decision on the project.

The proposal suggests changing the rules for how about two hectares of land can be used to allow for 50 new homes in the southwest area of the city. According to the City of Leduc, the plan includes 30 single-family houses with front driveways and 20 townhouses that have access from a back lane.

The project also features a new neighbourhood park to provide space for local families to relax and spend time outdoors. This work marks the tenth stage of the Black Stone community, which is a large development project led by Cameron Communities and Maclab Development Group.

The public hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Leduc Civic Centre. Members of the community can attend in person to share their views or submit written comments and documents to city officials to ensure their voices are heard regarding the new development.
