The Leduc RCMP is hosting a public talk in Calmar, Alberta, to teach community members how to better protect children from online dangers. The presentation will take place on April 2, 2026, at the Calmar Program Centre from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The session will focus on the work of the Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation unit. This specialized team includes officers from both the RCMP and the Edmonton Police Service who work together to investigate online crimes.

These teams operate under the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams. They have been active in the province since May 2006, focusing on issues such as child luring and other computer-related crimes.

Parents and guardians are invited to attend to learn about current risks and get practical advice on internet safety. The meeting is part of an ongoing effort to keep families informed about how to stay safe while using technology.
