Five Lethbridge residents have been charged with first-degree murder following the death of a 27-year-old man in the city late last month. The Lethbridge Police Service confirmed that all five suspects were known to the victim and are currently being held in custody.
The investigation began on March 27, 2026, when police and emergency responders were called to an apartment complex on the 200 block of 7 A Avenue South. Upon arrival at approximately 6:30 a.m., they discovered the man unresponsive, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police reports indicate that the victim was inside the apartment with one of the accused, 22-year-old Emma Ryann Scott, during the early morning hours. Investigators determined that several individuals arrived at the residence over the following hours, where the victim was held against his will, assaulted, and choked. Authorities state that evidence points to a targeted, pre-planned attack in which all five individuals took part.
The arrests were carried out over a 12-day period, beginning on March 28 and concluding on April 8 when Scott turned herself in at the police station. The other four people charged are Darcy Andrew Medicine Crane, 43; Jordan Frank North Peigan, 27; Nicholas Rodney Scout, 42; and Bradley Stephen Paskiuski, 40.
Staff Sgt. Ashlin Snowdon of the Lethbridge Police Service stated that while the investigation is ongoing, the community remains safe. Officials are continuing to ask members of the public to come forward with any information related to the case. The accused individuals have various court dates spanning from April to early May.
