The Lethbridge Public Library is hosting free watch parties for the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games at both its Main Branch and Crossings Branch in Lethbridge, Alberta. Starting on March 6, 2026, neighbours can visit the library to watch Canadian athletes compete in Italy and join together in a community setting.
The events begin with a special watch party for the opening ceremony on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Fans can watch the ceremony in the Community Meeting Room at the Main Branch or the Servus Community Meeting Room at the Crossings Branch.
This local program is part of a larger project between CBC/Radio-Canada and more than 800 public libraries across the country. The goal is to make sure every resident can watch the games for free, even if they do not have the right TV channels or internet at home.
According to the Canadian Paralympic Committee, the games will feature 50 Canadian athletes competing in different winter sports. The International Paralympic Committee oversees the event, which runs through March 15, 2026.
People are welcome to drop in during regular library hours throughout the games to see live coverage and daily highlights. The library invites everyone to come out and cheer for the athletes as they compete on the world stage.
