The City of Lethbridge, Alberta, will host a public property auction on April 2, 2026, to sell land and buildings with overdue tax bills. The event is set for 11:00 A.M. in the Culver Room of City Hall, located at 910-4 Avenue South.

This auction is a standard procedure used by the city to collect unpaid property taxes. While the list originally included 25 properties, many owners have already made payment arrangements with the city to have their properties removed from the sale.

Kerry Boogaart, the Property Tax Manager for the city, says that any remaining properties will be sold on an “as is” basis. This means the city provides no guarantees regarding the condition of the buildings, the environmental state of the land, or how the property is zoned.

Potential buyers are responsible for checking if a property is suitable for their needs or has access to services before the bidding starts. This annual event serves as a final step in the city’s effort to recover money owed for local services and infrastructure.
