Environment Canada has ended the snow warning for Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, on the morning of February 12, 2026. The storm system that arrived on February 11 has moved further out to sea faster than expected, which means the heavy snow that was originally predicted will not happen.

While the risk of a major storm is over, gusty winds and falling temperatures are still expected to cause some issues. The Nova Scotia Department of Public Works is currently busy putting salt and sand on the roads to stop ice from forming as the wet ground freezes.

According to Environment Canada, the forecast for Bridgewater, Mahone Bay, and the Town of Lunenburg now calls for light flurries instead of the 15 centimetres of snow they first predicted. This change comes after weather satellites showed the moisture from the storm thinning out over the South Shore.

People driving on Highway 103 or Trunk 3 are encouraged to watch out for icy patches that might look like wet pavement. Residents can check for the latest road updates through Nova Scotia 511 before they head out for the evening commute.
