Mattawa Voyageur Days will return to Mattawa, Ontario, from July 24 to July 26, 2026, with a renewed focus on free family events and local activities. The festival website now lists the 2026 dates and identifies the event as the 27th annual festival, confirming the return of daytime programming that has long been a community staple.

While the specific daytime schedule is still being finalized, the festival is expected to feature the Mattawa Artisan & Farmers Market, which has traditionally been held on Main Street and in Timmins Park. According to the official festival website, country singer Owen Riegling is set to headline the Saturday night concert; other performers listed on the site include the Chris Buck Band and Steven Lee Olsen.

The announcement follows a decision by Mattawa Town Council to reduce its festival allocation to $460,000 for next year. Reporting indicates the festival ran a shortfall of about $40,000 in 2025, prompting the budget change and a shift toward sustainable, locally focused programming.

Organizers say the free daytime portion of the festival is a major draw for local families, often featuring activities such as kids’ games, pony rides and beach volleyball. Residents and visitors can expect more details on specific event times and vendor sign-ups to be posted on the festival’s Activities page as the event approaches.
