The Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta (CFSEA) is accepting applications for its 2026 Community Impact Award, the foundation’s annual $35,000 grant for a single transformative project serving southeastern Alberta.

Applications are due February 6, 2026 at 4:30 pm (Mountain). Eligible applicants include registered charities and other qualified donees serving communities across the CFSEA region, including Medicine Hat, Redcliff, Brooks & District, Cypress County, the County of Forty Mile and Special Areas No. 2.

The foundation was established in 1992 with a legacy gift from John Millar and has grown to manage millions in assets for the region. In its Fall 2025 granting cycle CFSEA distributed $568,052 across its programs.

All submissions for the Community Impact Award will be reviewed by a CFSEA Grant Committee made up of board members and community volunteers; finalists may be asked to provide additional information and presentations before a final selection is made. CFSEA’s mission statement notes it seeks to “create meaningful connections between donors and local charities for the permanent benefit of Southeastern Alberta.” (CFSEA)

Organizations can verify their registered-charity status via CanadaHelps before applying and should submit their proposals through CFSEA’s online grant portal. CFSEA says applicants will be notified of results within two months of the application deadline and that grant disbursements occur in May, with recipients invited to a grant celebration.
