The Holcim Gallery inside the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton will host a special art exhibition called “Out of Many Cultures, One People: An Afro-Caribbean Collective” from February 3 to February 28, 2026. This showcase, located in Milton, Ontario, is presented in partnership between the Town of Milton and the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton (CCAH) to celebrate Black History Month.
The exhibition will feature a collection of work from regional artists that explores family history and the experience of moving to Canada. The title of the show is a nod to the national motto of Jamaica, which highlights how different cultures can come together as one community. A video preview of the 2026 theme shows the focus on unity and heritage.
The exhibition is expected to be curated by Joan Butterfield, an award‑winning curator and art director who has organized many similar community projects in the region. This event is part of a larger effort by the town to bring more diverse Canadian stories and voices to local residents through the arts.
By moving these celebrations into Milton, the association hopes to help more people connect with the stories and art of the Afro‑Caribbean community. Residents will be able to visit the gallery throughout the month of February to see the different types of art on display and learn about these cultural traditions.
