Milton Hydro Distribution Inc. finished its community safety survey on February 1, 2026, to find out how much residents in Milton, Ontario, know about staying safe around electricity. The short online quiz was designed to help the utility understand what safety topics need more focus in future local education programs.

The survey asked residents about common risks, such as what to do if they see a downed power line or why they must call before digging on their property. According to Milton Hydro’s January 14, 2026 announcement, the feedback will be used to shape the utility’s local safety education programs for the 2026–2027 period (Milton Hydro press release, Jan. 14, 2026).

This project is part of a regular, biennial requirement from the Ontario Energy Board to ensure power companies are meeting public-safety awareness standards. To keep data collection unbiased, the utility partnered with independent research firm UtilityPulse to collect and study anonymous responses from local customers.

While the survey window is now closed, the utility encourages everyone to keep safety in mind and know who to contact during an emergency. To report a power outage, call Milton Hydro’s hotline at 1-844-NOHYDRO (1-844-664-9376). For life-safety emergencies — for example, if you see a fallen power line — call 911 immediately.
