The Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area (DMBIA) launched a Winter Gift-Card Giveaway on February 2, 2026, to encourage residents of Milton, Ontario, to shop at local businesses. One winner will receive a $100 prize bundle made up of four $25 gift cards from different shops located along the Main Street East corridor.
Residents can enter the contest by visiting the BIA’s official social posts and tagging friends on the giveaway post. According to the DMBIA, the entry mechanic uses a tag-a-friend format on the BIA’s Instagram or Facebook posts (handle: @DTMilton). The winner will be chosen at random and contacted through a direct message on the platform once the contest closes.
The promotion is part of an effort to keep the downtown area busy following a period of growth that saw several new stores open in late 2025. Recent additions include Wildwood Bookstore & Market (207 Main St E) and The Secret Garden (167 Main St E), which the DMBIA highlighted in its “Coming Soon” announcements.
The DMBIA said the giveaway is meant to celebrate the local shops that make the town vibrant. Monique Gaudet is the executive director of the BIA. To help attract more visitors during the winter, the group also extended its seasonal snowflake lighting program to run through March 2026.
These types of contests are a regular way for the group to support small businesses during the typically slower months after the holidays. The stated goal is to increase interest in the area and bring more people into the downtown core to shop and eat.
