The Halton Region Small Business Centre has launched a year-long Boot Camp seminar series to help local entrepreneurs in Milton, Ontario start and grow their companies throughout 2026. Announced on January 9, 2026, the sessions provide advice on business planning, marketing and financial management to support small businesses in one of the province’s fastest-growing communities.
Business owners can attend the training sessions in person at the Halton Regional Centre (1151 Bronte Road, Oakville) or at the Halton Hills Public Library (Georgetown Branch). To improve accessibility for Milton and Burlington residents, many classes are also offered virtually via Microsoft Teams webinars.
The seminars cover essential topics such as reaching new customers and accessing government grant programs. Sessions often help business owners prepare for provincial support programs like Starter Company Plus, which provides training and mentoring and gives participants the opportunity to pitch for a $5,000 micro-grant.
This effort aligns with the Town of Milton’s economic development strategy—specifically its goal to bolster the start-up ecosystem and support Milton’s competitiveness as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the West GTA. The 2026 programs are supported by Halton Regional Council and are partially funded by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade to help reduce the risks commonly faced by early-stage businesses.
Classes are organized seasonally (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) and run throughout 2026. Residents can find the full list of dates and register for both free and paid sessions on the Halton Region Small Business Centre pages at halton.ca.
