Students at Milton District High School in Milton, Ontario, are starting a project on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, to research local soldiers from the World Wars to help families preserve their history.
Teacher Mr. Kellner is leading the initiative and will hold an information session in room 213 immediately after school. The project will give students hands-on experience finding facts about people from the community who served in the military.
This work will build on previous records from the Milton Historical Society. The goal is to create new reports and displays that residents can use to learn about their ancestors.
Students will also look for ways to correct mistakes on the Milton Victoria Park Cenotaph, which has three incorrect names from the Second World War. They may also research the gold watches the town gave to returning soldiers between 1915 and 1922.
