Residents on the east side of Minto, Ontario, will have their trash picked up this Saturday after heavy snow stopped collection trucks earlier this week. The missed pickup from February 9, 2026, has been moved to February 14 to ensure everyone’s garbage, recycling, and green bins are emptied. All affected residents are asked to have their items out at the curb by 7:00 a.m. sharp.

The Town of Minto says the delay happened because deep snow made it unsafe for trucks to drive down side streets and rural roads on Monday. This update affects about 8 percent of the community, mainly those living on the rural routes and sections of the east side of the township.

According to Wellington County, the Saturday pickup will include yellow garbage bags, blue boxes, and green bins. People are asked to make sure their bins are not placed on top of snowbanks, as this prevents the truck arms from grabbing the containers properly.

While Circular Materials manages the recycling program, that collection will also happen on Saturday at the same time as the garbage and food waste. This extra pickup day was organized to prevent trash from piling up and to stop residents from having to make extra trips to local waste stations.
