The Father Bernard M. Broderick Council #1219 and other local groups are hosting a community auction on Sunday, February 1, 2026, to help people in Miramichi, New Brunswick. The event will take place at the Father Bernard M. Broderick Memorial Hall (K of C Hall), 67 King Street, on the Chatham side of the city. Doors open at 12:00 p.m. for viewing; bidding begins at 1:30 p.m.

Residents can bid on a variety of donated items, including household furniture, local art, and gift cards from area businesses. Organizers say proceeds will be distributed to local community programs — beneficiaries include St. Vincent de Paul, the Miramichi Food Bank, and local emergency shelters that have seen high demand during the winter months.

Organizers, including the Greater Miramichi Knights of Columbus, say the goal is to ensure local charities have enough funds to help families through the rest of the cold season. This special event is different from the weekly “Auction 45” card games that are often held at K of C halls; it focuses specifically on selling donated goods and services to the public.

Father Bernard M. Broderick Council #1219 was chartered in 1907 and is one of the earliest Knights of Columbus councils in New Brunswick. By hosting this auction, the council aims to bring neighbors together to support the city’s social services and youth programs.
