Crews from Mississippi Mills Roads and Public Works recently repaired a watermain break on Bridge Street in Mississippi Mills, Ontario, to restore service to the local area. The break occurred on a stretch of the road between Country Street and Perth Street.

Repair work was carried out on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. During this time, residents and businesses near the John Levi Community Centre faced temporary water service interruptions and changes to normal traffic patterns.

This repair is part of a larger effort to maintain the town’s aging water system. According to a budget report from Roads and Public Works, the municipality faces an estimated 316.8 million dollars in total infrastructure replacement costs.

In a related update to water services, the municipality is introducing a 2-dollar fee for paper water bills starting in March 2026. This change is intended to encourage residents to switch to digital billing and offset municipal costs.
