A free event for adults 55 and older will fill the Carleton Place Arena with information and local connections on Thursday, June 4, 2026. The 55+ Expo runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 75 Neelin Street, offering more than 50 exhibitors focused on healthy, active living.
Hosted by Home Hospice North Lanark in partnership with the Town of Carleton Place, the expo is open to older adults, caregivers, and family members. Organizers say the goal is to help people stay independent and connected to what’s available in their own community.
“We believe that everyone should have access to valuable information and community connections, so we’ve made sure there are no fees to attend,” the event page states.
Presentations run throughout the day. The Lanark County OPP will talk about personal safety at 10:15 a.m., Home Hospice North Lanark will discuss programs and services at 11 a.m., Carebridge Community Support will highlight active programs at 12:30 p.m., the Alzheimer Society Lanark Leeds Grenville will share a dementia overview at 1:15 p.m., and Houle Healthcare will explain how to access programs and services at 2 p.m.
Dark & Deadly Café will provide complimentary coffee between 10 a.m. and noon. The Carleton Place Arena is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of parking. The event is supported by the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.
This is the second annual 55+ Expo, part of a rotating series. Last year’s event was in Almonte, and organizers plan to hold the 2027 expo in Pakenham. The timing lines up with Ontario’s Seniors Month, which has been celebrated every June since 1984. This year’s provincial theme is “Ontario Seniors — Let’s Get Moving.”
Carleton Place Mayor Toby Randell proclaimed June 2026 as Seniors Month at the May 12 Town Council meeting. For more information about the expo, contact Jessica Hansen at [email protected].
