Mississippi Mills, Ontario, is expected to see heavy snow and difficult travel conditions on March 20, 2026. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the area, forecasting that 5 to 10 centimetres of snow will fall throughout the morning and early afternoon.
The snow is expected to fall most heavily during the start of the day, with rates reaching 2 to 3 centimetres per hour at times. This heavy accumulation will likely make roads and walkways slippery, creating hazardous conditions for residents during the morning rush hour.
Local officials warn that the weather will likely cause travel delays. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to be careful and allow for extra time to reach their destinations safely as the snow piles up on local routes.
While dealing with the late-season snow, the Municipality of Mississippi Mills is also continuing to watch the Mississippi River. The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) has been monitoring the river throughout March 2026 to stay ahead of any flooding risks that typically happen when the weather begins to warm up and the snow melts.
