Mississippi Mills, Ontario — The Municipality of Mississippi Mills has added two “Youth Centre Gym Night” sessions to its community events calendar on January 9, 2026, and January 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Almonte District High School gym. The free events are open to youth aged 10 to 18 who want a safe, supervised space for sports and games during the winter months.
Organized by the Mississippi Mills Youth Centre (MMYC), Gym Night will feature “exciting games and challenges — from classic sports to creative team activities,” according to the MMYC programs listing. Participants must complete a one-time membership registration with the Youth Centre; once registered, most weekly programs, including Gym Night, are offered at no cost.
The Friday evening sessions aim to give local teens and pre-teens a social and physical outlet when outdoor activities are limited by weather. MMYC’s Gym Nights are a seasonal staple from September through April and the centre served more than 130 registered youth in the 2023–24 season.
Families are encouraged to register early. Registration is available in person at the Youth Centre’s drop-in location at 134 Main Street East in Almonte; the Municipality’s youth activities page lists the MMYC and provides contact information.
For more information on membership, schedules or volunteer opportunities, visit the MMYC website or contact the Youth Centre directly.
